IDOL IN MY AREA!

Guest post written by Joseph Finch

I was pumped when we got cable tv in my area because I could start watching “American Idol”. It is my all time favorite show. I have always loved to sing and would love to be in show business. I think watching the whole talent process unfold on television is fascinating. Of course, I will never be good enough to actually be on television, but it is nice to dream about it. Now that we have it and can watch “Idol” at the house, I have enjoyed the new cast. I missed the last couple of seasons because we had moved and didn’t get good television service. I was sad to see that Simon and Paula left the show, but I think that JLO and Steven Tyler are a good fit. I like Steven Tyler better than Simon because he isn’t quite as mean as Simon was. Correct that—he is not anywhere close to being as mean as Simon was on the show. Simon would actually make people cry! I will watch “Idol” until it goes off of the air!

Working out

Guest post from: Constance Rodgers

After we had our first baby, my husband and I decided that I should discontinue my gym membership. I no longer had time to go to the gym and we weren’t about to pay 35 dollars per month for a membership that I never use. We did get satellite TV from directv.com, and I decided to start watching Fit TV to see if there were any workouts I could do at home since we were already paying for that channel. I was surprised to find that there were several cardio workout shows that I enjoyed doing. I decided to put a few on the DVR so I could do them when the baby was napping. So far it has worked out great and I am able to exercise three to four times per week. I would really like to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight and I think these workouts will help me get there. I would like to incorporate some light weight lifting into my workouts. My husband has some weights set up in our garage and he said he would write me out some lifting to do. I have never been the type that is very interested in working out, but for the first time in my life I am truly motivated to get in shape.
